Meese has had a rough start to life.  This semi-bobbed tailed Lynx Point began as a feral cat, and hung around for a few years before he decided that he wanted to be friendly.  His tail appears to have been broken in two places, but the vet says that it is healed and doesn't appear to cause him any pain.  

 

He started getting more friendly in 2020, and by the fall he was comfortable enough to purr when petted, and to be picked up.  So we moved him inside for the winter, giving him our master bathroom and intending to move him back outside in the spring.  But he has really come to love everything about being an indoor cat.  He is fastidious about his litter box, and hasn't had a single accident.  He is now good with people, and we are fully comfortable with our six-year-old son petting and spending time with him.  When the vet came to see him for the first time, she had a hard time listening to his heart because he wouldn't stop purring.  He seems to have decided that he would rather be an indoor than an outdoor kitty, and who can blame him?  

 

Meese struggled outside a little and has chronic upper respiratory symptoms. He can be a little wheezy and sneezes from time to time. This is something that will likely be lifelong for him. His forever home could attempt to help support him by adding lysine to his food, however, nothing further needs to be (or can be) done at this time.

 

Now he is looking for his perfect home.  He is timid at first, not with people but with space.  It will be best to start him out in the room where his food and litter will be, and plan to spend time with him there for the first few days.  He is friendly with other cats, and he has seen dogs he seemed curious about didn't approach them or hiss.  

 

More than anything, this sweet guy knows what it is to live outside and not have someone caring for you, and he showers you with affection as if to say thank you for being his person.
